Augustine Udefa is a teacher, researcher, and philanthropist. He began his elementary education at Command Children’s School, Calabar; started his secondary education at Stella Maris Seminary, Uyanga, and completed it at St. Patrick’s College, Calabar, all in Nigeria.

Augustine attended the University of Calabar, Nigeria, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in physiology, a master’s degree in physiology, and a post graduate diploma in education. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in nutrition and exercise physiology at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Augustine is a charismatic individual with a love for humanitarian service. He founded the Augustine Udefa Foundation because of his love for humanity. Augustine believes that the world would be a better place if every privileged person gave a helping hand to one or two people in need.

His burning desire for service to humanity led to the establishment of the Foundation because he believes that, through this Foundation, many people, especially those with the fewest resources, will have access to free education and quality health services.

Precious Udefa is a co-founder of the Augustine Udefa Foundation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial biochemistry from the University of Cross River State, Nigeria. Precious believes that generosity has no boundaries. She is kindhearted, with a passion for giving, and takes immense joy in spreading love and positivity wherever she goes. With an open heart, Precious embodies the spirit of kindness and generosity and looks forward to touching the lives of people and leaving a lasting impact on them.

Sunday Okpa is the site coordinator for the International Centre for the Study of Breast cancer subtypes (ICSBCS), University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) study site. He is a REDcap/ data analyst. He has improved greatly, patient’s enrollment and overall general output of ICSBCS activities by over 80 % in UCTH site.  He attended the 7th and 8th annual international symposium of ICSBCS on improving gynecological cancer management in low and middle countries held in Calabar, Nigeria and Kumasi, Ghana respectively.  Sunday holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physiology from the University of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. He is very passionate about genomics and its impact on breast cancer subtypes.

Charles Udefa is a stakeholder in the Augustine Udefa Foundation, and he believes that helping even one person can go a long way. He’s from Obudu Local Government Area, Cross River State, Nigeria, and holds a bachelor’s degree in physical oceanography (physics) from the University of Calabar. Charles also holds other professional certifications. What matters more to him is giving back to society. Education changed the course of his life, so being part of a foundation that helps young people through scholarships feels personal. He doesn’t care about being seen, he just wants to see more young people rise, have a chance, and rewrite their own stories.
